Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) recently initiated the construction of its semiconductor fabrication plant, valued at Rs 91,000 crore, located in the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). The commencement ceremony was virtually presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking the establishment of India's inaugural semiconductor fabrication unit.

In collaboration with Taiwan's Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC), Tata Electronics is set to develop India's premier AI-integrated, cutting-edge semiconductor fabrication facility. This facility is designed to produce semiconductors for various uses, including power management integrated circuits, display drivers, microcontrollers, and logic for high-performance computing. With a projected output capacity of 50,000 wafers monthly, the facility is on track to deliver its first semiconductor chip by the close of 2026.
